Long, long ago........

my first novel

Diamond

Diamond
won the Kathleen Fidler Award in 1987. Unfortunately this award, which guaranteed publication for an unpublished writer, is no longer run. It was organised by Booktrust.

I wrote six

Pitchers

about five children living in East London,

and The Sue Tribe

about girls on holiday in France.

On the Wire
is about Rosa, caught up in conspiracy at Greenham Common. It had huffy reviews in the establishment press.

Kevin the Blue (Who?) won the first Independent 'Story of the Year' Award. It is set on a little river in Derbyshire called the Ecclesbourne. Kevin appears in Puffin Stories for Seven Year Olds, and an audio tape,

as does Kylie and the Can Can Beans.

My husband's all time favourite is

Gerald and the Pelican

about an eco-warrior sea-bird.

My hens inspired

Rhoda Red Hen in Kingfisher's Nursery tales.

Special Offer in A moon, A Star, A Story happens in Belper Safeway.
